Ignacio Montoya runs Finca La Playa in Urrao, Antioquia with quiet dedication. The importers we work with first met Ignacio through their friend Enrico, finding him in his garage meticulously hand-sorting parchment coffee. When they asked if he had ever tasted his own harvest, he said no. They offered to roast a sample for him, a proposal that left him both surprised and a little anxious to finally experience the result of his hard work. Since that meeting, they've continued to purchase his entire small production of Caturra and Chiroso.
