The Alvarez family has been growing coffee at Finca Santa Maria since 1892, so it's fair to say they have some pretty decent knowledge on coffee farming and processing. Influenced by the surrounding terroir, their old growth coffee trees are nestled in the Alpaneca-Llamatepec, a biosphere reserve that produces cool climates, cloud forests and even some active volcanoes.
