Loma La Gloria 12.10
Ohh man, is this coffee special! We would first like to state that this is the fourth year we have purchased coffee from Anny Ruth's farm, Loma La Gloria, in El Salvador. The first year we purchased one 70kg bag, and this year we have procured 30!!
We finally got a chance to visit the farm this year, and cup through their offerings. This coffee is what would be refered to as a day lot, meaning the entire lot was picked on the same day. A lot of times the day lots are blended together to create the years selections, but it is possible to keep them seperate for buyers like ourselves.
This lot was all picked on December 10th 2018 from the same plot of the farm at a slightly higher elevation, and is all the same varietal (red bourbon). To us it was the most complex, sweet and clean coffee of the 16 coffees we cupped on the visit, and feel it best highlights the varietal, terroir and processing methods of Loma La Gloria.
This coffee was grown and produced without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides or fungicides
We purchased this coffee in conjunction with Ally Coffee trading, of which our representative happens to be the husband of the farmer Anny Ruth. We paid $4.55/lb to Ally Coffee, of which $4.10 will go directly to the farmer. We purchased thirty 70kg bags, and score this coffee at an 87. This is the fourth year we have purchased coffee from Loma La Gloria!
